I am a graduate student that is teaching horn lessons to students with
ages ranging from the beginner to the high school senior. My question
deals with how to deal with young performers who have the wonderful
contraption known as braces. a) What can a horn teacher, or band
director for that matter, do to help combat with this problem and is
there anything we can to help things such as range, tone quality or
endurance? b) After the student gets the braces off, what is a good
way to help them adjust to playing the horn without the braces?
